Check
How do you check whether a text was written with machine assistance?
Checking here means reading the signal, not closing the case. paste the text into the free tool, look at the verdict and the passages, and only then choose the conversation The page does not issue a certificate and does not name a third-party engine.
How to do it in three steps
Bring the full disputed passage, not one isolated sentence. The minimum is 20 characters, but a paragraph gives the signal more context.
- Paste the text. No screenshot and no PDF. If the original is paper, transcribe it; this page does not read an image.
- Read the top badge and, more important, the passages. One high passage and one low passage in the same document is the common case: human edit on a draft, or a quotation in the middle.
- Choose the next human step: ask for the draft, the source, the conversation. The verdict does not replace that step. Calibration is more stable on formal English prose; Portuguese goes in as a signal, not as proof.
What to expect: formats, size and time
Text from 20 characters, page allowance, a retry if the engine is busy. No file. No published “how much machine” percentage as a fact. No third-party engine name on the surface.
Translated text, boilerplate legal clauses and scientific text with a long quotation push the signal. That is the object, not a hidden error. Do not use the badge in a disciplinary process without a house policy.
When to use the paid API
When the check enters the delivery flow: issue, pull request, support inbox. The API returns the verdict in the pipe. /products and /pricing.

Frequently asked questions
Is the result proof in a proceeding?
No. It is a signal. A proceeding needs policy, conversation and, if it fits, another expert review.
Can I check only the suspicious paragraph?
Yes, if it has at least 20 characters. The neighbouring passage sometimes changes the picture: try both.
Is Portuguese text refused?
No. It goes in. The visible product calibration is more stable on formal English prose.
Is there an official “it is machine” threshold?
The page shows a verdict and passages. We do not publish a cutoff number as law. Read the passages.
