How do you make a PNG with a transparent background?
A transparent PNG is the file the layout has not decided yet: you paste it on white, on a banner or on a video. The free tool cuts the photo and returns that PNG at the same resolution, without hiding the cutout behind a paid plan.
How to do it in three steps
The point is not “having no background”. The point is a file the next program can overlay. JPEG cannot do that. The page returns PNG on purpose.
- Send the photo as PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 8 MB. If the original is already a PNG with a background, the tool still cuts whatever sits behind the item.
- Wait for the cutout. Time varies with size and load. The download arrives as PNG, transparency checkerboard in the viewer, same dimensions as the upload.
- Use the PNG in the editor, the storefront or the video. If the edge has a halo, the cause is usually a backdrop close to the item or heavy JPEG compression on the source — not a missing “magic grade” in the cutout.
What to expect: formats, size and time
Input: PNG, JPEG, WebP, up to 8 MB. Output: transparent PNG, full resolution. One image at a time. Daily allowance. No account until the allowance runs out. Time is not promised on a fixed clock.
The page does not export transparent WebP, TIFF or a layered PSD. If your layout needs another envelope, convert afterwards. Hair, glass and smoke remain the hard case: another photo, better contrast, not another download format.
When to use the paid API
When the transparent PNG must be born in the pipe — supplier upload becomes cutout becomes CDN — and not in the tab. The API returns the same PNG. Account and key at /products and /pricing.

Frequently asked questions
Why not download JPEG?
JPEG does not keep a transparency channel. The cutout would become a white or black plate in the next program.
Is the PNG over-compressed?
The page returns the upload resolution. PNG weight depends on area and cutout, not on a hidden downscale.
Can I send a PNG that is already transparent?
Yes. The tool cuts again whatever sits behind the item. If the item was already isolated, the gain is small.
Is there a transparent WebP download here?
No. The download from this page is PNG. Convert afterwards if your layout requires WebP.
